The roller with no water will weight over 1500 lbs. Not sure how much water a 20 inch tub 14 feet long will hold. So it should make it pretty smooth.

1900 lb of water if it’s full. Will be a heavy roller.

We use a brillion seeder when planting Bermuda or other small grass seed.

Wish I had access to one.

          20" pipe @ 0.5" wall, full of water, is 227 lbs/ft. 227*14=3178

          -pipe alone is 104.23 lb/ft
          -the water in a 20" x 0.5" wall pipe is 122.86 lb/ft

If you are disking it, rolling will definetly be needed to seal it all up. I'll be following to see the finished product.

I would love to find a big piece of pipe (48") to build a big, heavy roller for road building around the ranch.

A little progress. I ordered the end caps with the middle hole computer plasma cut. Got the water fill hole to small but will fix. Got gussets in to the support the axle. Next door neighbor is going to weld axles and end caps to pipe. He is retired and welded for a living. I’ll weld the frame. Below is not welded yet but shows how gussets will reenforce axle. The gussets will be inside the tube. Suggestions welcome

Gonna be nice. Might take a long time to fill through that little hole with no other way for air to escape.

Make sure you have gates wider than the roller!

My soil is sandy loam (more sand than loam) and I tried a cultipacker but it would push up the soil and start digging in, I bought an old tire roller and rebuilt it. It works pretty good, I attached a drag to cover the seed before rolling it.

Stan, hit me up next time you need CNC plasma or laser cutting, or bending, or rolling [emoji6]

                            A little progress

Changed the axle to cold rolled steel

Bright will weld up axles the end plates then to tube. Kinda want to do it myself. Just need a little more confidence or someone looking to check my plans.

Did work on the tube a bit got one end cut even and the other end ready for cut

Got the other end cut. This is what I used and the number of disk to cut one side.

Got 1 end cap welded up. Cut water hole to 2 in. Almost done with one

Not a beautiful welds but should hold
