Spine Question

I have 2 Gt traditional 500 spine cut to 29 3/4” with a 100gr insert & 125gr head. They shoot good out of the new recurve. Question is I have a dozen Beman mfx shaft uncut. I want to leave them at 31”. Would I need any more point weight than a 125 head & a 75gr insert? Im thinking it should pretty close in cut. Would an 1 1/4” make a big spine difference? I’m think of using my Gt Pierce inserts in them so I can add the fact weights.

For me a quarter inch makes a difference bare shaft tuning. I over trimmed a time or two but for a quarter inch the 5 grain brass rings you put over the farrel on the field point added enough extra weight to keep them useful for practice arrows.

All shafts are not created equal. Just because 2 different brand shafts say .500 on them, does not mean they are the same. Some form of tuning is the only true way to get the correct answer to your question!!!
