Think he’s just dark having the traditional white outlines where they should be jerp...

Just a dark buck. Melanistics have no white except sometimes under the tail.

I was wondering if it was just the lighting or angle. Sure looks dark in that pic

He's darker than normal, but lots of white too. Cool looking deer, whatever you call it.

Normal colored deer just bristled up. Posturing. They all do it and most look just like that when they do.

Not melanistic. He is fluffed up from piloerection. It’s either cold or he’s posturing for dominance.
