Game Warden Question

This got me thinking….
the thread about Hunter 1 wounding deer with guts hanging out. Then hunter 2 kills the deer 1000 yards away an hour later. If hunter 2 decides to give the deer to hunter 1, does hunter 2 or hunter 1 tag the deer.

Who would tag it if it was a mutually tracked deer?

If 2 gives it to 1, it’s 1’s tag. As long as it’s not found out after 2 tagged it anyway. Just my opinion.

I would think if 2 killed out of mercy so deer didn’t suffer. Then 1 could tag it, but I don’t know how the law would be interpreted

Hunter 1 should get the deer and make hunter 2 tag it too. Then tell hunter 2 he may not be able to come back next year.
