    Golf cart trouble shooting

This is a 2003 club car. 48v cart.

Cart moves for a split second once throttle is pushed and then stops.

    Batteries fully charged. 49v

BYPASSED solenoid and still not working

With cart in neutral 49v to negative and positive on speed control

With cart in F/R 48v to speed control from wire coming from F/N/R switch.

With cart in F/R and no throttle, batteries at 49v. No voltage drop when throttle is given

When you give the cart throttle the voltage at speed controller between negative and the the wire going to F/N/R switch is lost. When throttle is let go voltage slowly returns.

I’m thinking it’s the speed controller.

EDIT: Another thing I found weird was in F/R all for studs on motor have 48v to the negative on speed controller

Check speed sensor from rear wheel to engine

Check the motor should be one wire running from motor to wheel maybe rear end on that model

49V is almost dead batteries on a lead acid cart. Full charge should be somewhere around 52V.

That may or may not be your problem.

If the motor was getting power but it wasn’t enough to move it, don’t you thing I would see a voltage drop at the batteries when the throttle was pushed??

Maybe or your controller could be seeing a low voltage situation and shutting itself off to protect itself.

Bypass the onboard computer to see if that is the problem. Mine did something similar and the research I did said that could be a problem. Mine started working again for no reason so I never investigated it further.

My batteries are shot and at full charge I have 48v and my cart still runs ok.

Possibly the throttle sensor under the floor mat.

I bypassed the coil. How do you bypass the computer?
