How to choose a round?

Thanks for the insights, everyone! The Remington Core Lokts grouped ok, maybe 2 in groups at 100 yards but honestly a lot of that could be user error. After all, this is the first rifle I've ever owned though I have sent many a 12 ga slug at deer over the years, albeit within 60 yards in most cases.

Might try one or two other brands in 180 gr to compare with the 180 gr Core Lokts I have currently and just pick the best one. Upon reflection, lots of practice is probably way more important than perfecting round selection I figure.
