I'm going to use salted Hackberry that I harvested from my neighbors tree then sent it to Terry Dunn to have stabilized.
I've got it heat treating now, I also put some thumb grooves on the spine in front of the scales.

I haven't, but I've got a heat treat oven. This steel is 1084 carbon.

Nice knife. May I ask a dumb question? I know nothing about knife making, but what are the three inner holes in the steel for? Weight reduction?

ATS 34 is the same basic chemistry as 154CM
