Walmart has a 20% share of the Ammo sales market. I’d say it is a pretty big deal.

I’ve bought a couple of guns from Walmart. It was pretty painless.

To me Bass Pro/Cabelas is much more of an *** whipping to buy a gun at.

Takes forever to be waited on because of all the tire kickers and low staff. Takes forever to go through the NICS/checkout process. Takes forever to get a manager over there to approve the paperwork. And then if you are leaving they want to either tape up the box with 3 miles of “security tape” or have a manager escort you out.

I’ve never been able to buy at gun there for under 2 hours of my time.

I’d be willing to bet, a while back in the El Paso store, they’d have been real welcoming of somebody that would shoot back at the shooter there. Open carrying or not.

It’s definitely for political reasons. My concern is it sets a bad precedent for other retailers to follow suit further limiting access to Ammo.

What part of urging congress to act on gun control benefits Walmart's liability?

Corporate virtue signaling. We bought most of our groceries at Walfart. I just stopped going when I heard this. Not mad, not telling others to stop, just didn't feel like Walfart was in line with my beliefs.

They think the city people will still go there and the rural people have nowhere else to go. My hope is that a lot of rural shoppers feel like I do and will go to the other local grocery store to shop...if there is one.

At one time Walmart stopped selling all firearms. Then a number of years later they started selling them again. I can see them doing the same thing again in the future, with ammunition. Their bottom line is profit, they won't ignore the loss of revenue forever. I have never purchased a firearm, from Walmart due to their last policy against selling them. Through the years I have purchased very little ammo there, Academy gets my business.

And I called the sports desk from my cell phone and they joked with each other and didn’t answer because they assumed it was a call about 22 ammo.

Now, I bring all of my groceries, incidentals, and crap to the sporting counter for checkout.

And before anybody asks how I know this, it’s because I heard them talking as they were waiting for him to show up at the counter. They knew when the shipment was coming in and bought all of it between the four or five guys that were standing around.
