    Testing 12v feeder batteries?

What's the best way to test to make sure they're still good? Can the auto parts store test them?

Tester or volt meter. I use a volt meter to test ours

Volt meter. It will tell you more than just voltage.

Need to do the voltage test under load when the motor spins-just like on your car/truck.

I have a good volt meter. How do I go past just reading the voltage? Seems I have some that charge fine but are dead again before they should be.

A volt meter will only tell you the voltage. You need to do an amp draw.

Get a multimeter instead of strictly a voltage meter.

Test you solar panel too. Hook battery to motor, hook voltmeter to battery with no solar charger you should get a reading around 12.7volts. Test motor now, if it drops voltage way down then don’t pop right back up to 12.7 volts bad battery. Then while solar charger is disconnected test the leads on it If I remember correctly in the sun you should get a reading around 17volts.
