They were in the middle of a remodel, all records had been moved offsite. Thank goodness.

It was a pretty neat courthouse. Been by there a hundred times. My daughter had mentioned wanting to take a picture there with the building in the background. Never did and now I regret it.

The County Judge is a good friend of mine but I have not talked to him since the fire as I am sure he is rather busy. Beautiful building and quite the landmark.

Just had a report from a local fireman that arson is suspected. Also another house fire in Mason last night, arson suspected there as well. The grocery store was vandalized as well. So sad.

Info I read said first courthouse burned down also, with current one built in 1909 for $40,000. Had an oak balcony in district courtroom. Lucky all records were offsite.
