    I don't get how Dr's offices bill....

    4/23/19 I go to my sleep Dr.
    They read my machine, sell me my supplies and send me on my way. I paid cash for this visit. As I don't have a referral from my Primary Care Physician. I don't have a Primary Care Physician cause BCBS says they're a specialist. I haven't taken the time yet to find one.
    BTW I'm a cash customer.

    Today 8/13/19 I get a bill from them for $40.00. How can you bill me when I paid cash? Aftrr you shop @ Wal Mart and checkout do you expect another bill?
    This is aggravating as all get out. I strongly DETEST having to deal with this BS. That's why intake steps to avoid having to deal with it. Like I don't know PAY CASH after the visit.

    It sucks doubly bad cause I really liked the guy. He's retiring and closing the practice. Now I've got to find another sleep Dr. But first I've got to find a Primary Care Physician to get a referral to another Sleep Dr.

          They except your co-payment as paid. Then try us dummies to see if they can get any more money out of us. I usually throw them in the trash. I go to a clinic in Goldthwaite and get bills from a company in San Antonio. I throw them away and have not been denied service in years! Total rip off IMO!

                  I just got a bill from a emergency room visit in Livingston last month. You'd never guess what they charged. I stuck a treble hook in my daughter's foot and just couldn't bring myself to yank it out. I figure it would cost a couple of hundreds tops with insurance. The doctor wasn't even strong enough to cut the hook with the pliers he had so I had to do it for him. They billed my insurance $5400. That should be criminal to over charge like that.

                    I started to say you could send the doctor a bill for services rendered but they would probably try to turn you in for performing surgery without a license.

                      Just left the Drs office.
                      They don't know why I got it 8fbibwss a cash customer.
                      They also weren't sure why Insurance got billed as they don't have insurance info on me.
                      They said disregard for now, than gave me the number to the billing company.

                        You would be surprised as to all what happens with billing at medical offices. Improper charging happens almost on every single person that comes thru the doors. My wife is a provider and from what I can gather from her constant complaints, is the billing is done wrong by the people in the offices, not the insurance. Coding is hardly ever done right so the insurance companies and the billing department from the provider's office bill what the coders put on there.

                            have you ever called the Dr. Office about their billing? It is OBVIOUS that the Drs Office themselves doesn't even know how they bill

                              I received a bill 5 years after getting knee surgery. They said they had just automated and saw they should have billed me full surgery price....for taking off a bone spur why they were in there.
