I think you were pretty darn accurate. No way an 8 pt with that mass has anywhere close to 30” of mass in that part of Texas. I would put good $ on him not having anymore than 24”-25” of mass if scored properly.

No way he has 30 inches of mass. And with 20 inch beams he looks like a low 20s deer.
