    ASF Stand-and-fill DIY “corn shield”

I installed a DIY “corn shield” on my 600 pound ASF stand-and-fill feeder.
The 3’x4’ piece of sheet metal from Home Depot was a perfect fit with no cutting needed.
Middle part is attached by four zip ties.
Zip ties in each corner attached to the legs.
Short project to keep most of the corn from accumulating under the feeder.

      Still substantial amount under. ???

Is all the corn underneath the feeder from b4, or after installation? I'm assuming b4 cause I dont see how it could pile up under there now.

Looks like a good deal but I'd recommend heavy wire vs zip ties!

It’s a 12V and it slings the corn at a high speed.
Some of the corn hits the cage and falls down under the feeder.

Hope it works but the sheet metal gauge seems like it might be a little thin. Our west texas Boone & Crockett coons would make short work of that IMO.
I cut some corrugated roofing panels and used some heavy wall galvanized conduit and built some shields for my 85gal feeders. Been working good for a couple of years.

I would definitely replace the zip ties with some galvanized tie wire. Other than that, looks good.

                            I like that solution too.
I’ll keep this in mind if what i fixed-up doesn’t hold up.
                            Thanks for the idea.
