    Class of 98'.
Never hurt me any, but I sure didn't like it.
Looking back 20+ yrs later, I'm very thankful for it.
To add, this isn't really the school's rules.
    It was mandated upon them.
    Not the same.

That school was ahead of its time being “woke” way back then. Sent the guys home for no panty hose too? [emoji13]

In todays world people are usually glad to hire someone who wants to work. They ain't worried about facial hair.
Freedom to be individuals to a point. What is too often being lost on kids, you need to follow the rules and you're not going to like like a lot of them. School is one of the first lessons in learning when to pick your battles. They can learn it in school and save themselves a lot of problems in the future or wait until they have been fired a few times for fighting nonsense rules.

Our school didn't enforce any of the dress code for girls. As guys we were perfectly fine with that. I always caught flack for my surf shirts that often had scantily clad women on them. Particularly from one super feminist teacher. Her and I going at it was the only time I was ever borderline disrespectful to a teacher.

Covid 19 (as in covid strain that was identified in 2019) ,
Check everybody's temp starting March 1st 2021. Got it.....

Not sure how that facility made it through 2020 without this lifesaving measure.

Now that is some dumb ****! They really know how to make a decision

Back to the OP challenge... my son (15 in tennis) has been quarantined twice because he was exposed to someone who had the China virus. No symptoms, but had to do "online learning". His teachers didn't do their part with issuing his homework, or inserting his grades for the work he did. (This is not his take on the issues, his teachers admitted it to the school). He failed for the quarter according to the grade books, and was not allowed to participate in tennis. He had the teachers clear his grades, but still wasn't allowed to participate, because he didn't make sure the teachers did their jobs and entered his grades correctly. My wife is a school teacher and couldn't even believe that crap!

Boerne independent school district K-12 , dress code no facial hair and hair can’t touch the collar or need a shave , a coach or teacher would measure our hair and if they felt it needed a trim you got sent to see the vice principal who would issue a written order for it to make regulations
Next day before school we had to report to the cafeteria for a inspection, if you didn’t pass it
We would be escorted in a line to receive 2-3 licks with a paddle/ board then if you were in a extracurricular activity after practice or ag or shop the coach or director would line up all offenders and you got 2-3 more pops , this was repeated every day till regulation was met ! I don’t think that would fly these days and in after thought seems barbaric and unreasonable for a public school and I have no clue why our parents let them be so extreme ( some parents rented apartments in other districts so their children wouldn’t have to attend BISD and comply to their rules)

I got a call once from my kids school. It seems her dress was too short. I went to the school with the intent of delivering a spanking right on the spot. However, when I got there my daughter explained that the rule was your skirt must be longer than your fingertips with your arms extended by your side. Hers was by a good inch. The counselor explained to me that Katelyn’s legs were just longer than most. I told her Kate’s leg length were none of her business, her dress was within code and Paige went back to class. Dumb people with too much authority can be dangerous.

This is it exactly. Break a rule to check a rule. Its silly.

even senseless rules can serve a purpose. kids need to learn to stand up for what they believe. And without those rules to go against, they would not learn that lesson.

rules made by man are not absolute.

The problem with that analogy, is that students don’t have the opportunity to go work for a better boss who’s not a dumb ***. And far to many administrators are dumb asses.

IMHO When you have no rules or you are lax in enforcing rules this can happen.

Your neighbors son wakes up feeling his feminine side so after gym class in school he decides to take a shower with your daughter.

Or schools now have "gender neutral" bathrooms. What that heck is up with that.

Yup I am glad my parents bit the bullet and sent all of us to a Catholic school where rules were rules and they were obeyed or else.

I also believe EVERY student after graduation should go into the Marines for 2 years. They will be taught what they didn't learn in high school or at home . DISCIPLINE

Why are a dress code and enforcement a bad thing?
