Looks like a piece of fat to me. If it’s hard it’s fat. Soft and squishy, lung.
Definitely could have hit him in the rear.

The Pic of the blood pools... Is that the only pools you found?

Asking because I shot a deer with more blood pooling than that and could not find him. If that was all the blood produced after an hour... I dunno. But that is definitely a piece of lung. I hope you find him. I am new to this so this will be a learning experience for me as well.

Bet it’s a” one lung “shot deer

I hope u find birds, two weeks ago we lost a Nilgai bull and even though they were birds we couldn’t see them until we talked within 60 yards of birds... then we heard them!!! If not we wouldn’t have ever seen them!!!
