I don’t understand why people wear snake boots.

I have these boots. Nothing special but they are comfortable enough for Texas style deer hunting. If you intend to cover some ground walking (more than a mile or so) they may do ok but wear some good socks. Only time I wear these I’m usually riding around on a SxS and doing short bouts of walking filling a feeder or getting to a stand. I’ve never walked/hiked any significant distance in them.

Also never had the snake proof effectiveness tested and hopefully never will!

Pretty sure there are members on TBH who can vouch for the benefits of wearing snake boots. Not going to the hospital (or worse) due to an unplanned encounter with a snake is reason enough for me.

Snake boots have saved me from a bad situation on (2) occasions.

I’m a firm believer in them.

I've not been to happy with my Rocky snake boots.

My next pair will be Irish Setter Vaprtrek

So I can walk through the scratchy pokey stuff without leaving my own blood trail behind.

                Rattlers, cacti, buck brush, mesquite…etc

They are taller than work boots and more comfortable.

I don’t understand why people post stupid questions on threads!

This exactly. If you are in cactus country they are worth their weight in gold.

                  I use Danner snake boots.

You could try snake chaps instead.

Snakes can’t bite through a regular leather workboot

Go with Chips Jack....get the zippered model. They will last for years.

Danner. Finally broke down and bought some when they went on sale earlier this year, when they wear out I’ll buy another pair.
