Default On-going situation at our ranch in Camp Wood....

Two illegals tried to jump my brother just now, probably wanting to steal his truck. My brother fired in the air, and they took off. Some were carrying heavy packs. BP and sheriffs are inbound. This **** is getting bad.

BP says they're busy looking for a lost "family unit".

They couldn't point to Mexico on a map. People have been crossing our border illegally in mass for decades. However, now they don't have to worry about getting caught.

You are a fool if you are unarmed anywhere south of Rock Springs right now. This is happening every ****ed day. The news media won't report on it, but you can ask the local sheriffs and DPS units down there. My brother had a pistol on him, but, when he saw two of them, he ran for his AR-15. He saw the first two looking to the left of the doorway to the camp, and there were two more hiding up against the wall. They were going to jump him when he walked out. One shot through the doorway and they were doing the Usane Bolt out of there.

Had some knock on my lease trailer door around 3am years ago. It was only my buddy and myself at the lease. A cold front rolled in that day it was in the 30’s at night. Never opened the door. Kinda regret it now that I think about it…

Crazy what's going on there. Friday there were 3 DPS troopers parked off 377 between 41 and Rocksprings. I now sleep with my pistol unholstered on nightatand and AR by my bed.

When I left the ranch this morning, there was a longhorn out on hwy 55. Just up a little from him there was a gate busted open after cr409.
I called the uvalde co sheriff dpt. To let them know. It’s a real mess around here. I feel sorry for our LEO’s.

BP never showed up. Two DPS arrived with an Edwards Co. sheriff's deputy. They checked the camp next to us, they had been showering in there and apparently spent the night there. From my brother's description of the packs that they were carrying, they said they were drug mules, probably wanting my brother's truck. They said Kinney Co. is a mess right now. The border is wide open, and all sorts of mischief is coming though.

Glad your brother is OK! If some tragedy took place it would not have even sniffed the national news. The national folks, and our president are too focused on BP on horseback swinging their reins so nobody gets control of their horse. Pitiful.

Just got back from Rocksprings yesterday, went up Friday morning and came back yesterday evening. Filled feeders and built a new pen. Saw only one BP at 377 and 55. Saw plenty and I mean plenty of state troopers all over. The hotel was packed with them. It was quiet the whole time there we are 20 miles south on 674. The ground is real dry but every doe I saw had a yearling with them. Great fawn crop. Saw plenty of whitetail, pigs, and heard plenty of axis bark and I believe a cow elk call. Someone Did hit a cow and killed it on the road. A lot of deer on the road at night under the oaks. Oaks on our place have no acorns. Stayed at the 100 year old hotel in town, had the only room open. Actually very nice place and very accommodating.

Illegals Wandering through the brush are bad guys for sure. If they were not mules or did not have prior convictions they would just walk across and turn themselves in. Our administration is definitely part of the problem but wets have been walking through the brush for a long time. The only thing this administrations policies have done is take agents away from patrol because they are too busy babysitting bridge sitters and running intake facilities.

They are simply emboldened with the current border climate...make NO mistake, the ones wanting to be caught are actively pursuing to be processed, while the thugs get through using the others as cover. It's systematic & successful...the cartels are laughing at this admin & making as much money on humans as narcotics.

Please forget the mules for a second & try to grasp the amount of terrorists sneaking in...biden supporters / TDS'rs were warned this would happen & poo-poo'd the issue. Crickets.

Great, exactly where I'm at- looks like I'll become a weekend hunter like the rest of the crew this year.
Out there alone isn't sounding too smart.

FWIW, my two cell cams have yet to catch any two leggeds since I put them out months ago.

I think I'm about ready to head back to East Texas.
At least if you have to protect yourself from a meth head the feds won't come crawling out of the woodwork to skin you alive over it.

I have no doubt whoever connects against a border hopper in self defense will be made an example of by the current criminals running the system.

I posted this a few months ago, but I guess it bears repeating. My brother was in Uvalde a few months back and ran into a DPS officer that he knows. In talking to him, he warned my brother to be on the lookout, as almost daily they were having people kidnapped or carjacked by cartel guys. They would try to get you to stop on a rural road by waving you down or blocking the road, then they would jump the driver and steal the truck to haul the drugs into San Antonio or some other major drop off point. My brother builds ranch roads for a living in the hill country, so he's diving back roads alone all the time. The same DPS officer showed my brother a phone app that the cartels had been using. It was mapping software. On it was a dot for every rural dwelling in South Texas, including every hunting camp. There were three colors for the dots, red, yellow, or green. Green was for dwellings that were generally unoccupied and which could be used as safehouses or stop overs during smuggling trips. Yellow was a building that was sometimes occupied or more difficult to get into, and red was for those places to avoid. Our camp was red, but one of the camps near us was yellow, and the other was green. The one that was green is the one that they had come from when they came after my brother. It sits about 125 yards from our barndominium. If you have a hunting camp in South Texas, it's very likely on this app. Obviously, if your camp is red, you are there alone, and you have something that they want, like a truck or UTV, you could still be victimized. My guess is that, once the general deer season starts, they will be a little more cautious when they come through, but, in the current climate, who knows?

I’m willing to bet by mid October the first reports of “real issues at the border” we’ll hear from the white house will be Texans shooting illegal immigrants. That area is about to be covered up with armed citizens, and this exact situation will probably happen multiple times with different endings. Sorry to hear about the situation but glad your brother is okay.
