    Early scrapes

While scouting yesterday i found several scrapes, probably 5 or 6. All on a tree line over a distance of about 200 yrds. I don't remember ever finding scrapes this early in east Texas. Some were kinda small and a few were decent size. At least 3 had clear doe or small buck tracks in them. Im thinking they were made by a young buck but also that any mature buck that comes by will probably come check them out too. What do you think about scrapes being made this early? Do you think its worth setting up on, or its just a immature buck and probably not worth the effort?

Bucks start scraping when they knock off the velvet. They will also often scrape well into spring.

I have not seen any, usually the first ones pop up in late Aug. I did however put out two mock scrapes. One has a camera.

If you have found a scrape with multiple tracks in it, I would at least keep an eye on it. If it continues to be used, hunt it.

Do you add any scape attractants to get them started

Yes. The list of attractants are endless.

I had at least 4 within 10 yards of the protein feeder. I couldn't ever recall seeing any this early. I have never really looked for any this early as well.
