First Rattlesnake Sighting with Photo!

Ran across my first rattler of the year today in Lampasas. He was nice enough to pose for a picture, though he doesn't look too happy to see me.

What a handsome critter! I count about 12 rattles. It didnt by chance layout next to your tape measure too? How long you reckon? Im guessing 4’.

You're right on the money. When we first walked up he was stretched out, and I thought 4' as well. Tape measure wasnt available or recommended lol.

I was out at the lease in Irion County this weekend and did not see any. That surprised me. Was also surprised that that part of the state had a lot less rain than the eastern portion.
