Late posting but got a 30” axis buck on our Baker 3 hunt a few weeks ago and then got this guy last week before the rifle season came in.
He just recently showed up on my trail camera and I figured I’d better get after him ASAP. Hurried home from work on Thursday and got in my tripod late, around 4:30. Before long had a 4 Pt and 8 pt chasing a doe all around me. It sounded like they had moved off and then I hear grunting coming from the opposite direction. I grabbed my bow and could see him coming from the left. He stopped exactly where I needed and the rest is history. I wasn’t too worried about score, just knew that he was big enough for me. Everyone keeps asking because the pics make him look very big, but we rough scored him at 134-6/8”.
We are headed the the “H” for segment b so I am hoping my string of good luck continues!
