I got the email address because that examiner emailed me in October and said he was doing my background and needed to know what state I was born in.

Well, received a call from Kathleen at the ATF yesterday, very nice lady. My wife and I both wrote 'USA' as place of birth on our fingerprint cards, she wanted to know which state. Also asked me to email her pictures of the serial number and manufacturer on the rifle (I'm SBRing a Marlin 30-30 lever gun). And, said I forgot to sign in one place so she will be sending it back to me for signature. Said everything else looks good. At least I know it's moving in the right direction now!

Those you are seeing are outliers not the normal.

That is crazy, mine took 9 months. I know they lose alot of paperwork, I had 2 tax stamps lost.

Very helpful if you post what type you filed as an Individual or trust. Wait times can differ quite a bit.

Number of people in the trust who have full benefits of the trust will affect the time as well.

Can't be any worse than how long it's taking mine. Coming up on 6 months that mine has been pending background check with FBI.

Submitted form 1 October 2016. Called 2 weeks ago and it's still pending background check with the FBI.

AgBass, you need to dig deeper into why yours is taking so long.

Here are the dates for mine.
My first, I purchased March 1, 2016 and received notification my stamp was in on October 25, 2016. Picked up from dealer December 2016.
Then, I bought 2 more on Feb, 13th, 2017. I received notification today (2-22-18) that both of my stamps are in.

Form 4 Trust on all of them.
I am the only one listed on the Trust.
I will say that I received an e-mail in April of 2017 from the dealer stating I needed to "complete my information". I replied to them that they already had my photo and prints on file from when I picked up my first in December of 16 - the response was "OH MY GOODNESS".

Have you bought a gun where they ran a NICS check on you recently? Curious if you got a 'proceed'? If so, no reason for sure for it to take that long.

I was told last night that one of the reasons that trusts are taking so long is that each member is run past the IRS for delinquent taxes. If tax is owed, the $200 is forfeited and, until the debt is paid, the stamp is held up. I'm not sure that I believe that, but that's what he said.

LOL, that is funny. I was the only one......and no taxes were ever owed since 1985 (first year I paid taxes).

looking at the tracking site, it appears individual submissions were moving along well until 9/17 cash dates. haven't seen really any 9/17 cash dates approved. makes me wonder if they did in fact move people over to catch the trusts up with individuals before moving on??
