Default The I Watch is a Apple Scam

The whole idea is to leave your I Phone at home and go to lunch. It does not work. Been working with AT&T and Apple sense January.
The I Watch mirrors your I Phone and nothing else. You have to have both to get the dang watch to work.
2K down the drain. Put it in a bag in a drawer this morning. Apple jacked me...

Yea you need the Apple Watch that you can buy a data plan for. I believe some are capable of operating independently from the phone and some are not.

I bought my wife one after she fell and broke her ankle in two places and was unable to reach her phone. I was driving back to Brenham from the ranch and she laid there for over two hours before I got to Brenham and started calling her, with no answer.

Is it a cellular model? Were you connected to wi-fi? Can’t you get your money back?

Yup if you are 100 yards from your phone and it is on. Turn it off and drive 1000 feet away and report back to us.

They are garbage. Best minds in the industry tried to get mine to work. Pure trash. Been burning them on Amazon, Apple, and AT&T. Now the Green Screen. Truly a scam by Apple. Please sue me...

Well i just turned my phone is off right now and left it in a solid brick building and walked outside in my unit and sending texts and receiving from my wife?

Sounds like something with your watch. Maybe its not the model with service?

$750 watch and 1K brand new phone. They are trash. This is simple - Amazon, Apple, and AT&T are selling a truck load of cow manure...

Mine works by itself also. It is a model capable of cell service and I pay additional monthly fee for it on my cell bill. I am with Verizon and got it for emergency use as mentioned. I do still prefer the phone for all uses though.

If you have a watch capable of cellular it will work just fine, if you activate the cellular option. I think it’s $10 at ATT.

Forgot my phone in Tennessee and operated for three days without it just utilizing my watch. Far from a scam. Even used Apple Pay on my watch when I’ve forgotten my wallet. Do whatever you want with your money and your stuff, but the products work as advertised.

Best of luck with it.

Let me put it a simpler way:

The watch comes two ways:

GPS only
GPS + Cellular

If you bought GPS only, your watch is tethered to your phone via bluetooth.

If you bought GPS+Cellular, your watch has an LTE cellular antenna and can make calls, send texts, send emails, etc. even if your phone is off or not with you.

I have a work cell I carry with me all the time during the day and I wear my LTE apple watch (not linked to my work phone). I use my watch just like I use my personal phone if I need it but it is seldom done as I don't do personal things while working.

Bottom line you either have the wrong watch or you need to get some things set up right. You'll need a phone number and a data plan added to your watch for starters, if it is LTE.

I'll say this, though. It's kind of weird talking to someone on your watch, lol.

Johnny, I think the answer has been posted repeatedly. If you refuse to see it then that’s on you.

There is no scam here.

Someone even offered to come to you. Take them up on that before you keep crying scam please.

You absolutely can leave your phone at home and go to lunch if you have the right watch.

On my second watch.
The AT&T plan is like $30.00 a month with insurance. OF COURSE it has cellular and GPS.
Paid $750 to get the newest watch available and then bought the newest phone available. Hours at AT&T - hours at the Apple Genius Bar. Hours on the phone with tech support.

My watch works fine without my phone around. Heck I left my phone at home one day and went to work with just my watch. 70 miles away.
Received all my calls and texts.
Sorry you are having trouble but it’s not a scam. Only time there are issues is if the watch can’t get a good signal on its own. Obviously doesn’t signal as strong as a full phone.

There's something going on with your apple watch. I left my phone at the office two days ago and was using my watch to call the office and have them make sure my phone was there. I noticed when I was about 30 miles away from the office. They work if they're setup and functioning correctly.

Wow. Lots of watch owners on here.
And only one complaint

If I was still employed in an office, I would have one. However, my current lifestyle is too rough for expensive jewelry

IMHO the only thing more infuriating than having some checking their _____ ing watch in a meeting / conversation is having them do the same with their phone.

Both appear addictive and in our society to stay.

Nice save attempt. .

10 people plus a little kid in this thread can use their watch away from their phone. My brother’s GF uses hers away from her phone. I’ve dove hunted right next to her and watched her conduct business with their construction company and text with her phone back in the hotel. My wife was considering it so I was asking her questions about it.

Actually do what you said above or find a kid to show you how to work it.
