Every inch is written on your face!!!!!!! Great job sir. How close were you able to get on any of the stalks?

I also think a California bighorn would be a fun hunt. You never know!!! I have polar bear in April and then all that is left that I can get is Alaskan barren ground caribou towards the superslam. I definitely want to kill a brown bear with a bow and a central barren ground caribou. Maybe a mountain goat. There are some hunts left to do!!!!

Bingeaux! Yep the addicition is REAL........regrettably I am in the full throws of not even getting close to being cured!

Getting down to the very last few! Gonna keep chasing the super slam. May never get all 29 with Quebec caribou being closed. But, I’ll figure something out!

We had an appt to get the ram checked and plugged at 0830. The officer was running late so now we wait. I’ll be in Edmonton for two days. I’ll work on the full recap when I’m settled in the room and after a shower. Been 12 days!

Gonna start the recap and mix in some pics with my daily notes. Finally had my first shower in 12 days and cleaned up my beard. I feel a steak and a cocktail in my future!!!!

Some views from camp, the trailer at the first camp site. And the horses we used a few of the days. Judd, Roy and George.

I see that you were hunting with your 6.5 PRC. Curious, what ammo was your choice and how much penetration?

I will be using a 6.5 PRC in an upcoming hunt and wondering if it is a large enough caliber.

I love my 6.5 prc and I would be super comfortable with it for anything up to moose. On elk or moose I might keep my shots 400-500 yards max. But, I hate shooting that far anyway. I use the 143 grain eld-x. I shot factory ammo at first and now shoot some stuff from copper creek. I did their load development. My bullets are a bit faster than factory and from my gun hit about 3140 fps. I shot the sheep point on the shoulder at 178 yards and the bullet was a perfect mushroom right under the skin behind the off shoulder. The internal damage was impressive! I don’t think you could ask for more! Just remember, Europeans have been killing moose and red stags with 6.5 calibers for years.

Going to try to finish up the super slam. Although #29 may be unattainable for me as Quebec Labrador caribou is closed. Definitely should have done that one 15-20 years ago! There are some critters I plan to chase a second time and try to get with a bow. Mainly brown bear, central barren ground caribou, and mountain goat. I am probably getting out priced for buying any more sheep hunts in North America. I do apply for 8 sheep tags every year in the draw and 22-23 total tags per year. There will be more hunts!!!! I would love to kill a giant moose. I am going to Zambia in 2024. I will hunt some of the international mountain stuff if I don’t get too fat and too old. The wife and I are hunting in Spain in November. The double doc’s will ride again!
