Default Camper stolen!! TBH??

Well we drove from Needville to canyon lake today to spend the weekend at potters creek park and when we got to the storage the travel trailer is gone!!! The only place we had it listed for sale was here on TBHÖ. Please keep an eye out for it on the road and for sale.

Weekend ruined

Dang it

If thatís true then there is some time in there that the cameras were working while it was still there.

Dang it man! I hope the thief gets caught! I sure hope it didn’t get pinned through TBH but I can see how they could have possibly found it through here (complete speculation of course based on your comment of only posting it on here). You posted a pic in your ad that showed its location at cranes mill park. Then in a post you mentioned in a storage lot in Canyon lake. Quick google search shows the nearby storage lots. Could they have found it via scoping out these lots? Just thinking how detective Chew would think! Sorry bud, I hope you get it back or insurance handles it.

I don’t think the for sale ad had anything to do with its disappearance. Why would someone target it just because it was for sale? If they’re looking for a camper to steal in a storage lot just go drive by one and pick one out. There are hundreds to choose from.

Something sounds suspicious with cameras being down for three weeks at a storage lot where littlerally the only thing they have to do is make sure the gate works and the cameras run 24/7. I live 20 mins from the lake and rarely go up there. Place is notorious for BS like this. Hope your insurance picks it up and looks into it a bit.

If that owner advertised his lot with 24 hour security he should at least be on the hook for your deductible if his Securitate money was down for three weeks. Totally unacceptable.

If they have any kind of surveillance sign or mention of surveillance in any literature they gave you take a pic. That will help you later. Over 90 percent of thefts involve someone giving at least information from the inside if not acting as an accessory during themselves. Probably a 9 dollar an hour employee giving tips and looking the other way.

Yeah, the lake, more so the north side, is full of criminals and drugs. Comal County stays busy all the time around the lake.

I would not be surprised if someone wanted a new home and drug it to the north side of the lake.

Had the very same thing happen here in Burleson a few years ago. Brand new camper stolen off a gated storage facility. Inside job (someone else who had been storing stuff there). It eventually got found.

Ok. Find out the process for filing a claim against his insurance to cover your deductible plus the value of personal property. It’s a good idea to video your home and shop from stem to stern describing furniture, tools , etc for cases like this.

I call BS on the cameras being out three weeks. It’s their job to ensure they’re all working as past of the security. Likely it’ll be, “The hard drive” stopped.

Strange , the same thing happened at a storage facility here in Willis. Started with boat batteries and electronics then on to Rv's. Owners of said storage had the same excuse about the cameras not working. I'm almost positive that the individuals involved got together and sued the facility. You might try digging around , I bet your RV is not the only thing that has been stolen there.

I’ve had 2 of my clients RV stolen from storage places in the last month. Neither were recovered. The shortage has created a high demand and high resale. The crooks are taking advantage of that right now

They must use the same security cameras that they had on Epstien.

Iím with the crowd that says inside job. Either the owner of the storage lot or one of his employees.

Sorry to hear they got you. Around here the tweekers rent a spot in the facility to gain 24/7 access then victimize the other renters. They do this citywide.

If you have a homeowners policy, the 10% extension of coverage away from premises should give you coverage for your personal belongings. Problem is, there will be a rather hefty deductible most likely. Let’s say you have $250,000 on your house, your deductible will likely be $2500.

He is liable unless it is specifically stated in your contract as a disclaimer. Even then, he is likely liable. No doubt he has liability insurance.

Another thing, if you file it on your insurance and recover your deductible, you will owe the amount recovered to your insurance company if they hear about it.

This sounds like you own a storage facility. Any chance you can help the OP by offering him some advice about the potential liability of the owner who advertises live and video security or the liability of his insurance carrier?

I'm guessing that the rental contract has a clause disclaiming any liability.

Yes we own a storage facility and our rental agreement specifically states not responsible for lost or stolen items. The thing I have always worried about is if you state security and surveillance and you don't provide it then you could be sued for negligence and void the agreement. I have always just been conservative. Either way the facility should have liability insurance.
