What makes some scope rings more expensive that others? What should you look for when picking rings? What are some things to stay away from?

do you have a specialized PRS rifle or shoot benchrest competition where weight may be a factor ?

are you using a standard 2 pc. dovetail base , or a picatinny rail mount ?

Made in anywhere other than USA or Western Europe is a good clue you dont want those rings.

Avoid vertical split rings. Most of the cost is in brand loyalty but high end one piece mounts are going to be more expensive than two piece rings.
