I like both, but I like my Leupolds better.

Imo, Leupold is the better choice. But... if the viper is the HS or HST, then it will be good enough for your purpose. Viper PST is more of a target/tactical scope and glass is not as good as the HS/T at dawn and dusk.

Both scopes are awesome. In my opinion the mark 5 is a cut above though.

Mark 5 hands down. If it was a Viper PST you might have more of an argument from me but as someone who has owned both, mark 5 is the clear winner.
