8:45 - Saw this buck about 100 yards out. Rattled him in to about 45. Had a little buddy with him. I unashamedly would have smoked him had he been <35 yds. Yeah he’s not a H monster but he would have been my best and these days I hunt 2x a year with little ones at home. Great encounter!!

Got some good footage. Here’s a few stills for what their worth...

I am an Area Scout with the Kc Royals. I moved from Kansas and live in Mckinney. If anyone has any areas to bow hunt in Colin county or surrounding hunts i would gladly trade lessons/instructions for the ability to bow hunt around here!

It was a quartering-to frontal shot, 15 yards, no pass-thru. However, I hit him dead at the base of his neck. Followed blood for 100 yards or so, seems to have quit.

Relax, eat, and play it back in your head as to how much arrow was sticking out, direction he ran, and body language as to really hurt and struggling to run or full sprint without slack up. Time and daylight are your friends here. Good luck man!

Lack of blood is not unusual with that hit and no exit. The arrow staying in is good too with a fixed blade still cutting as he moves. Don't give up. Work from drop to drip on hands and knees if you need to. May be quite a distance before he starts blowing out his nose if its one lung. Hang in there.

Another thing... This is re kind of shot where you WANT to push the deer if he isn't already dead. Running into bushes with the back of that arrow can do nothing but help you. Keep looking and I bet you get him. He will be bleeding somewhere when he tried to pull that arrow out.
