My good friend Mike and I were able to join some other awesome tbh'ers on a trip to South Africa earlier this month and it was everything I expected and more. I'll spare you all the boring details but I was able to take a nice impala and blesbok with my bow and then used a rifle to take the number one animal on my list which was a gemsbok. I initially made a bad shot on the gemsbok but thanks to Rupert (a ph and amazing tracker) we were able to relocate it and finish it off with two more shots. On the last day I opted to take a nyala cow as well with a rifle.
Before this trip I have never hunted outside of Texas so Africa was not even a thought in my mind until Mike brought it up to me and I'm glad he did. After the hunt we added three more days on to the trip at another location next to a major game preserve so we could do a photo safari for Africa's big 5 and that was amazing as well. Attached are a few pics of my animals and a little video I put together of my bow kills.
