Starting to get anxious. One more trip for groceries, rotate tires, plant food plot Friday, load truck and trailer Monday and be in New Mexico Tuesday 8/27.

22 more days for me.

The thought of elk hunting is all but consuming every minute of the day now.
Reviewing checklists. Practicing my shooting. Working out. Cow calling and bugling. Watching all the DIY/Archery elk hunting shows on TV. Going over topos and Google Earth. Researching every post on every forum I can find on my NM unit. I could go on and on.

Seems like this is the hardest part of the wait - the last few weeks before the hunt.

We leave out Thursday after work. I don't see me getting a lot fine this week.

49 lbs with bow, 3 liters water, 6 days food.

Good luck Shockvalue. My buddy called from Colorado this afternoon and said he saw 18 bulls scouting this morning. Making me rethink my decision to wait a couple of more weeks. Never know I may sneak out a few days and try some early season action. I went ahead and got a voucher for deer also. Decisions decisions.
