Lubbock and Mahomes

People from Lubbock act like grew up w/ Mahomes and went to high school with him like he graduated from Coronado here in Lubbock or something. Truth is hes from a town weve never heard of. He had similar performances to everyone else who has played QB at Tech, he never won anything significant here and no one gave a crap about him his rookie year. Now that hes successful in the NFL the town thinks hes their bro or something. No doubt hes a great player and fun to watch I just dont see the connection everyone around here thinks they have with him. Maybe its just me.

Tech hasn’t had any alumni even close to the popularity of Mahomes . Everyone loves a winner also. Why wouldn’t Lubbock and Tech fall all over him ?

Mahomes was big when he was with us in Lubbock and his legend only grew as he left because we knew he would do big things. And yes, we love to claim him.
