Default BOLO Stolen Camper Tomball…Again

I had my camper stolen last September. I got it replaced and took the new camper to the lease for the season. I brought it back to Tomball and put it in storage Monday at 6:00pm and it was stolen Tuesday at 5:50am from Wildcat Storage. Does anyone recognize the truck in the pictures? It’s a mid-late 2000s black Chevy 3/4ton with black wheels and a white sticker on the back window, bottom right side.

This time it was a heavier duty steal lock that encloses the hitch and has a steel puck

Thanks man. I am in disbelief. I switched to a seemingly better storage unit and added a much stouter lock, locked up my chains, and the thing didn't last 12 hours. It was safer on the border in Laredo. This makes me sick. And now I'll have 2 total loss insurance claims in 4 months. I hope I can get insurance on the next one. I planned to get GPS but I was still researching the different types. Lesson learned. Gotta have GPS from the get go.

I had a customer who had his trailer stolen off of 99 and 249 on January 2. I was talking to the people at Lone Star and they had about 3 customers that had their trailer stolen that same weekend

That's what the owner of my storage unit said. They've been hitting the storage places in the area. He mentioned one place having 3 or 4 taken at one time.

How are they gaining access to the storage lots? Cutting locks/fences?

My immediate thought when reading this was that it was an inside job. Parking the trailer one night and gone the next morning? That smells like an inside job to me.
I hate to hear this for you. Man, your insurance company is not going to like it at all.

I don’t think they cut the lock. Video shows the truck there just a minute or two. I think the guy used his own chains to chain it to his truck. Next one will have gps and I’ll either take wheels off one side or get a hardened chain and chain the wheels together. My cop buddy said they have gps detectors so maybe just having gps plus wheel chains will deter them.

I second the opinion about an inside job. Might help on the next one to let the storage guy setting you up know you have a gps in it and that you've boobey trapped it because of past issues.

With any lock, look up the lock picking lawyer on YouTube. Some of the "max" security locks out there are a joke.

Is there any way to lock the wheels on travel trailers? Any type of deterrent that would have a would-be thief move on? I have thought about purchasing a trailer but I feel like the safest place to store it would be the deer lease. Not sure I want the headache of using a local storage facility. Sorry to hear about this a second time for you. Terrible.

If you disconnect the battery so you are not always send power to your brake pads, pull your breakaway switch so when they hook up it will lock up the brakes. (if they have a charge wire on their vehicle plug)

Stolen truck so best way to protect your assets is a GPS tracker and a back up in a different location. If they’re next level they’ll have a gps/wifi/cell jammer….

In the first pic, the trailer almost looks like it says "OutBack" across the front? Though they have same colors, the front looks different to me on my screen. More white along the bottom than your frontal North Trial pic further down.

And where's the pic of the white rear window sticker? Someone might recognize the sticker or vehicle from the rear.

Multiple campers were stolen. Not just mine. I'm working on getting the window sticker picture. Its white, and rectangular. Maybe a flag. Around 6"x9"

I wonder if if the insurance company will do any investigating of the storage lot. Just seems too easy for that much theft. Must be the cop in me talking/thinking about this. I would be p**&^ed if this happened to me. Good luck on the next one if you can stomach it.

That many trailers could not have been taken to far. It's some place close by.

I bet a time line by the time stamp on the pics could narrow down the distance to a radius of where they are being dumped.

The fish are biting, and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!

I think the sticker is actually a glare from the lights. I know right where that storage place is. I'd be looking on those streets across Boudreaux for that truck.

My wife's company got hit before Christmas. Took a dump trailer and a lowboy

There is definitely a white sticker. I saw it in the video while watching with the owner but didn’t get a picture of it on my phone. I asked him for a picture of it. Still waiting.

He took the lock off a side gate and came in that way. Doesn’t need a code to get out the main gate. The owner is installing a keypad on the inside too. But hasn’t done it yet.
