It’s getting tough to find. Walmart has been the key lately.

I started saving and filling up some of the empty DEF jugs at the pump when I fill the truck and keep them in my truck toolbox for those times when it's hard to find.

Tried that before and couldn't get it, our truck stop in town you have to have a fuel or rewards or company card to pump it, not sure whats up with that?

My oil guy told me weeks ago a massive shortage was coming. I bought 50 jugs along with 5 drums of Peak and just got it in on Monday. We use a ton of it but I bought the jugs just to have as back up.

Where are you located? If your anywhere in NE Tx you can have a jug of this, I think it was around $9 per 2.5 gallon jug.

I usually buy at TSC in the 5 gallon jugs. I have been to multiple TSCs in the past few months and all have been out or VERY limited supply. Trying to stock up for my commercial vehicles has been tough, next step is to order a pallet.

No sir, this is how I stay in business. Let me see you work without whatever tools you need to do your job. We burn over 5,000 gallons of diesel a month and we can’t operate without DEF so I covered my rear end. I didn’t contribute to the shortage, merely making sure the shortage doesn’t shut me down.

You need to call your buddy Biden on the cause of the shortage

There’s a YouTube guy, economic ninja, that warned of an upcoming DEF shortage a couple of months ago. He stated it was primarily due to a shortage of plastic containers and that the truck stops that have DEF at the pump should still have it.

These shortages are regional. If you go into a region where there isn’t as many new diesel trucks then it will be easier to find it.

I just ordered 3 jugs from Walmart.com of the Blue for $15.80 each, free shipping. They showed stock of the Supertech for $10.xx at some local stores but weren't available for shipping.

Unless you hotshot or run 18 wheelers. Then sorry for the shortage. There is only one group of bloodsuckers causing this shortage, and it doesn't only reside in one political party.

Exactly!

Take off all the stuff that is being fixed by the warranty and causing the other issues. If I had option when I bought they could have kept their warranty 100% and took off the price built into the truck for warranty and the parts cost for all that BS

ID have saved $35k… and still never been in the shop

When I owned a small trucking company with 9 trucks, my Peterbilts with all the Commiefornia EPA crap would get 4-5.5 mpg depending on a lot of variables. Those same exact trucks but glider kits (new truck but equipped with a rebuilt Detroit and rebuilt trannie) would get 8-10 mpg depending on the same variables. Now…..you tell me how that makes sense?? We burn nearly twice the fuel to supposedly lower our “carbon footprint”??? Yeah…I don’t think so. Not to mention the added expense of the DEF at $2.69/gal at the time. At that time, my DEF consumption was about 3.5% vs fuel. So when I spent 30k on fuel, I also spent over 1k in DEF.

That’s the logic behind emissions that lower efficiency. Lol

Just like the recent "gas shortage" really it's just a run on the product by fearful consumers. I don't blame people for taking care of themselves though, it is what it is.

Cheaper and can top off the tank so have to do it less. I always do it while traveling long distances. It can be a ***** to find a dispenser that works some of the places I've stopped are garbage. Some also have some stopper equipped where a magnet is involved or something, but I've never stopped and not found a pump that works after trying a few.

Truck stop pumps do not take credit cards at the pump. Go inside to the fuel desk and have the clerk turn the pump on for you. Credit cards work inside.

I know at one point, you could drive a 6.7 Ford for a certain period on just water if you need to. The main issue is letting it sit and it freezing.
