For some reason the link to the TBOT classes/equipment guidelines didn't show on that flyer:

Already got reservations at my daughters place for Friday and Saturday night. It'll cost me though. She and my wife will shop all day whilst I'm loosing arrows.

I always like to get a round or two in. Hopefully I can manage the AC joint better this season and shoot more. But this is one I try to make regardless.

We usually have at least 150 total scorecards turned in over the two days. Many people shoot in several classes so Iím not sure about total number of shooters

I canít answer the turnout number, but this is one of the ranges Daniel and I have on our Ďfavoritesí list. They set a good course and the people there are great.

Any all-trad shoot at Cowtown is a ďdonít missĒ event. The consistently set some of the best trad 3D courses anywhere!!!!!

Question

So I am a novice trad shooter, but would like to participate. I have not shot in any organized way, Iím curious about how you would prepare and how many arrows one would bring and any other advice.
Thanks
Bert

Bring cash to pay for your round(s), bring half a dozen arrows (preferably with bright fletchings to find if you miss the target),a good sense of humor, and expect most shots to be 10-20 yards, with a few at 25, and maybe with one or two stretched out to 30-35 yards.

That pretty much covers it. As far as preparation, just prepare to meet some great people and have a great time. You will find these shoots to be very relaxed - just jump in and enjoy?

I feel the enforcement of rule 17 may hinder my ability
Any idea how may folk shoot the men’s wood recurve?
And can I shoot in the Ladies wood recurve, as I may identify as such that weekend

You can usually get a sense of turnout by going to the Cowtown or TBoT website and looking at past shoot results.

It varies from year to year but there are usually 15-20 cards turned in for men's recurve wood and about 30-35 for men's recurve open.

Who else is braving the cold for this shoot? This will be my first TBOT 3D shoot, and I’m gonna shoot both days. Definitely looking like a true Winter 3D shoot according to the weather forecast.

It's 15 minutes away for me.
Well, on dry pavement. 30 on ice.
Planning on being there early and shooting a round. Two if the shoulder holds up and I don't run out of arrows.

Yeah looks like it may be a true “Winter Traditional” at least on Saturday. Some rain is possible (>50%) but I’m hoping that forecast will be as wrong as today’s was. Sunday will be sunny and warmer

I hate shooting in the rain. Got my fill of that in Chester last year!

NWS shows rain after 1pm. Shoot early!

It’s gonna be chilly tomorrow but the chance of “light rain” has dropped to 20-30% depending on which forecast you are looking at.

Still going to try and make this. Hoping the roads aren't too icy in the AM. 3 hour drives can quickly become 5 if it's slick.
