I did this as a project for a class last year and thought it might be helpful for some people on th GS who would like to start fletching thier own arrows. I enjoy having the custome look, plus it gives me something to do during the off season. The wraps are from Cameron.

Very good. A lot of effort to help some one else learn.
Now can you do the same using different fletching jigs? LOL |

It will be coming soon. I am looking into a couple other jigs right now. Might do some with real feahers and a blitzenberger jig. Then maybe an arizona ez fletch. These seem to be the most popular ones. Thanks for the compliments

That's a great write up! I use a JoJan helical fletcher and helped my 10yo daughter fletch her 1916s the other day. So don't be intimidated if anybody is new to it, with a little practice it's an easy way to save some $$$

Nice project.
It takes me longer to put my wraps on than it does to fletch my arrows. I use FOB's! ![]() |

I think she took off 2 points because the words on one of the slides was not aligned. Oh well I got to do a project on something I am interested in doing which made it pretty easy.

That's a good project, but I have one question for you and anybody else who is more knowledgable than I am. I was told once to never submerge a carbon arrow into acetone because the acetone erodes the resin that holds the carbon together. I suppose if you've been doing it this way for a while and not had any problems, maybe it's okay, but I have always scraped as much residue off as humanly possible, then wiped the shafts down with acetone until it was all gone. What's the word on acetone damaging carbon shafts?

I have heard the same thing. I do scrape as much off and then still submerge but only for about a minute, then wipe with a cloth until its gone.

Awsom job. I have 1 question. What is the trick to the glue distribution? ? I always end up with either to much or to little , or more on one side of the fletching than the other.. how do you get that just right every time so that all of your arrows look professional and exactly the same???
