Lots of great options now. The new Griffin Explorr cans would be pretty hard to beat when factoring length, weight and price.
Also the Energetic Vox. I tend to factor weight and length more heavily than sound suppression though. |

After having bought several and regretted some, these are the things I look for in a can. These are in no particular order, but you should decide what’s important to you. Any 30cal can is going to work for anything smaller.
1) mounting (do you want QD or DT) 2) weight 3) product support 4) sound suppression Pew science has been doing some really good work lately reviewing suppressors. With that being said these would be my top choices right now. Dead Air nomad LTI CGS Hyperion |

This is a little more than your budget- Silencer Co Omega 36M. But it can be ran on several calibers. I run it on my 223, 7.62x39 AK, and my 9 mm pistol. Will need to get ASR mounts for each rifle or direct thread. Then a face cap is needed for 223 and 30 cal to reduce the dB more if desired, the .36 cal cap comes with the silencer.

Just bought a Odin moab today. 440 with tax + 200 stamp. $640 total cheapest 30 cal can I could find. I’ve been looking around for awhile and didn’t want to spend a lot. Agree with the other guys there are many variables

I only have one so far. YHM Resonator R2. I’ve been extremely happy with it. Full auto rated, 300 WIN/RUM rated and weighs about a pound. Total cost (can, sales tax and stamp) was right at $800

My YHM Phantom SS was within that budget (at least when I bought it several years back)
I used it for .308, .556 and 300blk. Worked very well for all three but it's heavy. |

Right on, as others have stated, I see a lot of good feedback on the yhm resonator R2 and EA vox. I don’t think silencer shop carries EA tho so you would have to pay a transfer fee to your dealer if you want to use silencer shop to do the eform4 (you can search silencer shop to find their dealers in Dallas with a kiosk). I hear mixed review with griffin cans, they have so many models it’s hard to keep them straight, the owner does post a lot on ar15.com and is pretty funny, always low key crapping on other brands. A lot of hunters seem to really like the silencerco omega 300 but they seem to be less popular with the “tactical” crowd for some reason.

I'm partial to YHM supressors. They are affordable and built to last. I bought a couple of their phantom 30 cal suppressors a few years back for a steal. They are heavy but for the price I paid, I can deal with the weight. I'm either in a stand of shooting from a bench so its not bad. The YHM mounts are solid and they work.

I would definitely focus on weight and sound suppression. Having something that is 1.5-2# won’t be fun. Your budget might make this tough, but I’d you want a all in one maybe a SiCO 36M or 46M. I run the Q’s but a lot of people don’t like owner KB. Thunderbeast is also great if you don’t want full auto. I would also see what the mounts cost as they can add up and some suck and need replacement dePending on what you read.

Lots of good options out there. |

I second Payne Brothers. Awesome shop, well stocked and very helpful staff. They have the SilencerShop kiosk right there at the door, so you can do everything in house on the paperwork. They stock the SilencerCo, YHM, Dead Air, and others. You can touch them all side by side and decide which is best for you. Kevin and Mitch are very helpful.
On a budget for a do-all can, it's hard to beat the YHM Resonator R2. Very quiet, tough as nails, great company, and you can use a variety of QD mounts with the R2 now. Using a direct thread attachment will get it down as light and short as the Omega 300. Also, check out the Pantera from Acadian Armament if precision is what you're after. |

i have not bought a can in a long time .. I too would be interested in a shop that carries things in stock as well as familiar with the paperwork ... and also don't gouge .
i hate to say it but my local shop (i won't mention) has very little stock , terrible price and when i asked about the kiosk they have , they didn't even know how it works ! needless to say, never bought anything from them. i'd love to find a good place near dfw! i've bought tons of stuff from Mark @ STS (always did me right, and good prices).. but that's a 8.5hr drive every time... so unless i was going to that area for another reason it kinda blows. |

Find a shooting range that sells them. Once i paid for mine i could take it to the range and shoot it just have to remember to turn it in before you leave the property. Helps the wait period go by faster.

Dead Air Nomad or SandMan S
SilencerCo Omega or Chimera Rugged Isn't bad, Thuderbeast makes awesome cans, Griffin isn't bad and same with the Q series stuff Lastly you can just Form 1 a can yourself if you have the equipment or know someone. Id probably tell you to bump the budget to 1000$ ish and do one of the can's listed in the first 2 lines and just get a extra brake or 2 to leave on your rifles you want to use them on. |

As I was certifying an eForm today over the phone, my dealer said some of the first forms to go thru (not silencer shop) came back in a month...good news, although the official estimate is 90 days.

I know once you have all of your silencer shop info submitted buying your next one is supper easy. Buy online and everything else done electronically until time for pickup. I’m on my 4th on that way and just have to find it in stock online or in retail store/website and upload a new picture yearly.
Not sure I would try all electronic or through mail on the first one as the SS kiosk knocks out fingerprints and tries to prevent bad ones and them getting rejected. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

yes there an absolute dream if your running it on a 30 cal gas gun chamber stays clean
but wouldn't recommend one if your just gonna run it on bolt gun or anything in a ar15 platform due to cost |

I think my next can is going to be the AB suppressor Raptor with a 6" reflex mount. Never held one but all reviews are great and I love the idea of the reflex mount.
Anyone have any experience with AB? |
