    Wyatt Earp

Wyatt Earp and brothers believed in prostitution. But also believed in citizens not owning guns. Just a thought while I watch Tombstone tonight

I believe the gun owning was limited to while you were in town.

Prostitution was common in those days mostly because for several years there was a severe shortage of women in the frontier towns. Most men had guns but not nearly as many men carried revolvers as movies and tv portrayed. Cowtowns were the first to restrict the carrying of guns in town simply because alcohol and gunpowder do not mix well.

So……the moral of this story is you check one of your guns, but get to keep the other !

I mentioned on the New Year's Eve thread I'm reading a book that ruins the whole movie. The prostitute and gun thing is pretty accurate though. A lot of wives were former ladies of the night.

I missed that one. What is the book you’re reading on this?

What are you going to be doing with that guy to catch the disease?
