Red flag laws are a haven for abuse. Id wager that all of us would be on a list based on a few key words used in this forum.

Or strategically planted words PLACED just about anywhere.

For the record, I don't own a laptop.
(my wife does for work, I do not)

My heart also breaks for the parents who, if they slept at all last night- had to wake up and then get gut punched with the realization that they weren't just in a nightmare.
      Terrible to even consider.

Praying for all those that their lives have been turned upside down by this horrific act.

Just can't wrap my brain around it, just makes my belly hurt.

Instead she decided to go back into the classroom as a 4th grade teacher. Today a 4th grader at her school brought a knife to school, and almost got away with it because (some) teachers are afraid of the kids. If it weren’t for my wife, this kid would have gotten away with nothing done to him.

Kids in elementary schools are getting away with all kinds of horrific things all in the name of not hurting feelings and singling kids out. A few weeks ago in my wife’s 4th grade class, she was in a meeting while a substitute teacher was supposed to be watching the kids. Well, the sub stepped out of the classroom for a second, and a boy attacked a girl. Full on closed fist hit, and kicked her numerous times. The substitute didn’t do a thing. My wife escorted the boy to the principles office where he got ISS for a day, that’s it.

My wife has been verbally abused by parents too wanting grades to be changed. My wife reported it and was told by administration to change the kids grades!!!

This is why teachers are leaving at an alarming rate. This is not happening at one or two schools here and there, it is happening EVERYWHERE. Until we as a society starts taking responsibility for our own actions(everyone) then this will continue.

My prayers go out to those involved.
You are 100% correct. My wife is the local high school librarian and she sees this crap every day. Just a day or two ago some seniors, (one girl’s mom was a teacher), went into the school and turn over desks, wrapped stuff with saran wrap, and pulled other stupid kid pranks. Of course she got them in with her mom’s key. Nothing of consequence will happen to them. Whereas my daddy would have torn my azz up, theirs will do little to nothing. And whatever the school would have done to me wouldn’t have been fun either.

I think the main problem with these school shootings, (besides the fact that this nation “under God” is no longer that), is that the shooters have been exhibiting abnormal behavior long before they snapped and nobody stepped up to do anything about it. Nobody decides to shoot little kids one day without having lots of mental problems beforehand IMO.

Lets face it, Lucifer has got this world in his grip and it’s gonna take the second coming to straighten things out. Pray for that !

Obviously, security measures need to be implemented to better protect children and other vulnerable members of society from evil actors. The issue is, evil will find a way to attack us where it hurts most. Personally, I am in the belief that we need to figure out what is driving folks to act out and perpetrate these evil acts.

Surely this evil SOB didn’t have a vendetta against elementary kids. It’s more likely that in his mind he was lashing out against society. He was trying to inflict as much horror and pain as he could muster. Again, the question is what is driving folks to this state of mind?

Kids with out parent involvement are not the same as kids with parent involvement. A good kid with good parents absolutely can play these games with out any negative effect.
Sure the bigger picture is absolutely the parents but to say these game are not the problem in all instances is wrong
I’ll take my chances around the kid whose actively involved parent let’s him play video games in healthy doses over the kid that don’t know who daddy is but don’t play video games.

Sitting in front of a screen playing games all day everyday is not good for anyone for many obvious reasons. That’s where the parenting comes in.

Our school prior to 2 years ago you could get in at any door at the district. Small schools don't have a lot of the security features. Our school has recently been redone and security is pretty great now compared to what it was.

There are no real consequences anymore. Police putting themselves on the line everyday only for a liberal DA to turn around and let the person go, sometimes without even a slap on the wrist.

Society has became so soft, most believing these ****ty people can and will change. Until there are severe consequences brought back and these folks who are never going to be a contributor to society are outed, we are in a repeat cycle.

Use your brain. Quit trying to stir up crap and stop and think about the real ramifications of red flag laws that WILL get abused. Heck I could call and say I thought you were a crazy unstable old man. Boom. They are coming to get your guns. All of us want to protect our children and family. Most all of us understand it’s not the guns fault. We just know that the government further regulating our freedoms is not the answer.

It seems strange that this only happens in the US. I wonder what other countries are able to do to prevent this type of stuff from happening? I would guess that kids I’m most other countries also play violent video games. Are parents in other countries just better parents than those in the US? Maybe they’re just better at sending their thoughts and prayers so God listens to them more. That’s the only thing I can come up with.

Go to the beer joint for some easy trim. Ooops , easy is pregnant. Two folks who don’t know each other get married, have a kid, rais kid in a home with constant arguing then finally divorce where the kid is passed around like second hand ball glove.

Unless society finds a moral compass it’s not going to get better
Sure this happens. I also know plenty of kids with happily married parents but they are little hellians with zero discipline and zero consequences because mom and dad suck at parenting. It all stems from ****** parenting and trying to be friends with the kid and being afraid to give some tough love and hurt the kids feelings.

The DAEP rooms (for HS and MS) are located in portable buildings across the street from the main HS building.

THREE of the kids that are currently in the DAEP classroom are there BECAUSE they made death threats at school.
Similarly, my wife (who took a super-sub position, and is not certified) is currently in a room with 15-20 students (6th - 8th grade) with behavioral/emotional issues, alone, daily. While they aren't secluded in a temp structure, they are "removed" from the bulk of student activity in a large room near the gym, causing her to be on an island with some less-than-well-behaved kids, a couple of whom could easily overpower her. Very frustrating and concerning, especially knowing what we know about the kids and their home lives.

I am praying for the families of EVERY single child and staff member on campus yesterday. There's no telling what kind of life-altering trauma the survivors witnessed. Children and innocent bystanders are as undeserving of their penance as those whose lives were lost. It's truly heartbreaking.

As a gun rights advocate, I think the biggest mistake any of us can make is to continue spouting the same arguments in the aftermath of such events. Something, somewhere has to change. The rhetoric from both sides is old and proven to be false.

We will never make parents be better parents , or stop Satan from controlling the hearts and minds of the un saved. We have to go into protection mode , stop letting these fools just walk into schools with guns , really not that complicated . As long as schools are soft targets its gonna be like this , sucks but evil aint going away, I could care less what makes em evil, games , parents , internet , whatever it is we cant control that. We can control who walks thru the door of a elementary school.
