In addition to the regular TBOT classes, there will be a few added classes. A "Bob Lee class" which can be shot with any Bob Lee bow (recurve, longbow, whatever) and any arrow combo. We'll have a lady's and men's winner. This class is more for fun and won't count toward the overall shooter points. We'll also have a "traditional longbow class", for one or two piece (connected in the grip) longbows and wood arrows. The other longbow classes will still be there, for both open and woods.

Bumping this one up with a question. What are your thoughts on shooting 40 targets vs 50? We want the shooters to enjoy the course and the outing. Chester was 40, the Hill Country 50. While the range at Brazos County doesn't have the elevation changes or spread that the Hill Country does, it will potentially be hotter, and some of the lanes are pretty thick, with little wind. We are considering the health of shooters, as well as the folks that will be clearing and setting the range. What say the GS?

I’m good either way. The advantage to 40 for folks like me and Rusty is we can shoot more rounds. More rounds = more $$$ for the club.

I will bring up this point though; y’all have already advertised/put out a flyer for a 50 target course, so some folks might be a bit miffed if they show up to find 40. I think I would leave it 50 for this year and make the change for next year if y’all decide it needs to be changed.

If you do change it to 40, please let me know. I have a bunch of flyers to put out at the state longbow shoot next weekend. If the change is made, I can change it to 40 on those flyers before putting them out for folks to have.

Hey Bisch, the flyer stating 50 is one of our concerns. But after talking to a lot of people Sunday at Chester, the feedback we’ve been getting is 40 would be ok. We’ll spread the word on social media as much as we can, and if you don’t mind changing the flyers you have, that would be awesome. I’m with you- 40 means more rounds, potentially.

Lol, you guys are funny. Delano will be at the World Archery 3D Championships & U.S. Team Trials in Kentucky next week before the Bob Lee shoot. He said he might make it down to shoot with us on Sunday but wasn't sure.

A note on food: our vendors are now playing hard to get, so we will probably do sausage wraps with condiments, and have a cooler or two with soft drinks, gatorade, and water set up near the registration area. We'll have plenty of water out on the range, as always, and I think there might be fruit available, too. There are quite a few fast-food places near the range, and although not as convenient as eating on site, if folks want more of a meal, there are options relatively close by.

Spectators are welcome! The course is set up down trails through the woods. You walk down the trails, and targets are set down lanes that branch off the main trail. It’s not like an event in an arena or stadium, where the spectators sit and watch, but you are welcome to walk around the course and watch people shoot. This is a laid back type shoot- you’ll hear smack talking, lots of laughing, and plenty of good-natured ribbing.
