I've been practicing while holding an umbrella and wearing waders. I'm ready!

We are playing it safe. Bringing waders, umbrellas, a kayak, parkas, coveralls, snow shoes, t-shirts, and shorts, plus mosquito spray and handwarmers.

Great ideas for one of the "after the shoot" competitions. Only on the Chester Water Course:
- Paddle out in perot and shoot three from 15-yards at a wood duck 3D target!

- Submerge and then pop-up Navy Seal style. Shoot 3 into a Taliban 3D target! Time and accuracy both count on this one.

No. Chester Classic follows TBOT rules. I did add a class "Barebow". Because I am the IBO Texas State Rep, I receive much support from the IBO including new targets, scorecards, signage, etc. I always loved the Chester shoot and was happy to be able to continue it and it's legacy for all of us to enjoy again.

Makes no matter, actually. I can score a 125 in TBOT or IBO. No difference!

Can a societal reject (i.e. stringwalker) shoot in Barebow?

LOL that is the class for you, "Barebow". Funny thing I was messing around one day with stringwalking, trying to learn the art/form, and was amazed at how neat it was to put the arrow in the center of the 11/12 ring and let it fly at all distances. Now I had to make sure I didn't forget and stringwalk and gap on the shot, LOL, that was a disaster a few times, but overall stringwalking is intriguing and unique when holding right in the middle of the intended target and pulling the shot. Quite a sense of power!!! I can see myself possibly shooting that class for a new adventure in archery.

Your status as a societal reject has nothing to do with string walking!!!!

Do you know what day you're shooting Cowtown, and are you bringing your prettier half? Daniel and I are trying to make it there, not sure which day yet.

Wudstix,
If you shoot anything other than off the shelf, string walk or scrawl, and think a stabilizer throws you into barebow division. I shot a fixed crawl last year and was placed in BB division. I think the BB class is outlined in the IBO traditional site.

Shana,

We need to get this posted on the 3D forum!

Is there a flyer I could cut-n-paste on Facebook Group's?

Shana, I have a bud that has been a forever compound shooter and he just bought a Samick Sage! But he's going to stick a sight on it.

If I can get him to come shoot, can he shoot fun rounds with that sighted bow?

This just in… awesome news: Rick Welch will host a seminar on Saturday evening at Chester during the Chester Classic. Bring ur questions about hunting, shooting, setting up a bow, etc. anything archery related. Rick is a multitalented archer and hunter. At one time he held the record for harvesting the largest buck with a recurve bow on video. Many of us learned how to shoot by watching his videos. Over 50 world and national titles. A bow manufacturer. So happy to have him join us.
