Why the one week break in the north zone, and two week break in the south zone. I don’t even care they are different lengths. I just wanna know why in general. Anyone have an answer?

Think I already found my answer.

It’s an attempt to “lengthen” the 60 day max season allowed by federal fish and game regs.
Is that right?

I was typing just that. 60 days spread over 3 months, November to January. Tpwd works within federal regulations.
