Most of the shots should be 20 and under, maybe a few a little over 20. We’ll probably stick an elk or the standing bear a little out there for a long(ish) shot, but for the most part we’re going for hunting distances.

Gary, 7:30am for registration. The course will be open until dark on Saturday. The office might close before then, but we'll make sure to leave something for cards to be put in, if we close up before everyone is off the course. For Sunday, cards should be in by 2pm.

The course will be set with traditional hunting ranges, with a few more challenging shots thrown in, like it was last year. Think "TBOT distances" not "ASA." We want everyone to have fun.

I did something last night I'm not proud of. I was in a bind because work and weekends have been crazy.
But I really needed some arrows some what close to tuned.
I went through the bare shaft and trimming and adjusting.
But I ran out of time . I felt like I had no choice. Not if I really wanted to shoot this weekend.
So I went ahead and did it. I'm not proud of it but what's done is done. Hopefully I won't regret it.
I used fletching tape.

Half of the arrows I’m shooting are done with tape. Some of the back ends of the feathers have shifted over a little, and it drives my OCD mind crazy, but at my level, I can’t see a difference in how they fly or hit. ***Note to self: never buy faux woodgrain Centershots again. The finish doesn’t hold up to stripping glued on feathers. They look like crap after refletching.

It was good to see you Gary, even if just in passing! Sorry I had to jet so fast today. Would have been nice to hang out and shoot a round with you.

Well, I finally got to make a 3d shoot this year and it did not disappoint! I have been terribly out of practice due to lack of motivation, but I had a blast and honestly exceeded my expectations of how I would shoot. I still didn’t do great, but I shot more today than I have all year combined. Well worth the 420 mile round trip!

Yeah I am amazed those two (Rusty and Bisch ) have been able to shoot those marathon rounds all these years. It was fun and challenging the last couple shoots but yeah, it doesn't leave much time to shoot the ****.

I don't believe I've met a traditional shooter at these events I didn't enjoy shooting a round with. Some may have been a little crazy, but only noticeable because it was a little different than my own insanity!

I made myself a promise to shoot more of these this season and although I've missed a few I've enjoyed all I have attended.

I want to say a big THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS to all the people who came out this weekend to shoot, visit, and setup booths. All of you make the effort worth it. It was so much fun getting to meet so many folks who share the same love for traditional archery. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves, and hope to see everyone again next year.

I don’t have the exact shooter numbers yet, but as soon as I do I’ll share them here. I’ll also post up scores, once I get them entered into a speadsheet. Trust me, you don’t want me doing it today.. My brain is TIRED, lol!
