    Pork jerky

    Can you make pork jerky if so is it made different and anyone have a recipe

    I've been making it for years. Make it just like beef/deer jerky. I only make it from the backstraps and its better than deer jerky. Just be sure to cut off the fat.
    I have made jerky from beef, deer, wild hog, chicken and turkey. I always use Allegros marinade, brown sugar and crushed red pepper. Always good!!!

      I make wild hog jerky. Only difference between it and deer jerky is you have to be SURE you get it to 160 for a little while to kill any trichinosis pathogens.

        I bever even thought about this.
        So to be sure, I couldn't hang in my smoke house like I do deer jerky?

          Sure, you can use your smoke house! I do use the pink (cure) in the marinade. Just smoke it the same way as you would with deer and enjoy!
