Duck experts: what kind of ducks are these?

Grey bodies with brown grey heads and black bills. Black tail with what seems to be white patch on wings. These are the drakes. At first thought Egyptian goose but with black bills it’s throwing me off. I’m not a duck hunter so I have no idea what these are.

If it helps there was a pair of shovelers feeding with them.

If you hear anyone say “Gray Duck” they are also referring to gadwalls

You said it in the first word in your post. Grey Duck. Gaddies are a big bodied duck that will make you feel like a finalist of the Stuttgart calling contest. They work reeeal good.

Never preferred their taste. Kind of muddy and nasty, much of the time, so tried not to shoot them.

Since the consensus is gadwall’s I believe I’ll shoot a few off the back porch this week to try out on the smoker haha
