With the high price of deer corn these days...

Is anyone supplementing their corn feeder with peas or something else. Last I checked Buccees corn prices are through the roof and for that price I could add a supplement that has significant protein content. We do not have demand feeders just the usual spin type.

    Thanks and open to suggestions.

I like to mix in some pea gravel for the sound effects.

I have tried peas in the past and my deer would not touch them.

Opps didn't mean to post this in the Classifieds. Can someone move this to the Campfire forum?

Our deer will not touch the soybeans.

Yes, you can buy some types of protein that deer will eat cheaper than corn. For example, AllStock at Atwoods is a 13% feed that our deer will slam. It is $1.00 bag cheaper than corn. Is it better than DD or Antlermax - NO, but to your point you can buy as cheap or cheaper than corn.

We just shut the corn off. Only feeding protein. Not so much the money, but all we were feeding were pigs. Range conditions where I hunt are Great right now. Will turn the corn feeders back on in a Month or 2.

If bullets are 2.25 per round I don’t see corn being a big deal.

Go to Brookshire Brothers. Many sell corn, $7.99/bag. They have a special that if you buy 10 bags you get one free (if they're still doing it).

Gonna be hard to beat corn price and still throw it from a feeder.

I'm all ears though if someone has the option.

Mummes in Hondo quoted me $8.15 a sack(apple corn) if you buy at least 40.

Presek's in Sealy quoted me $8.49 and will sell / load by the pallet.

Oasis Outback in Uvalde was $8.95

Still, you manage to pull them onto your place.
