I'd be more focused on the Jetties then the surf during November. That's the very end of their Bull Run, and the sharks are always plentiful around the jetties. Surf could be hot or miss.

Sounds great!

What about the bay system for reds, trout, etc? Will water still be at good temperature?

That should start time for sheepshead, yea?

All depends on water temps. If it's a really cold November the trout will be in the rivers or over deep shell. If it's a mild November you can usually find them in their normal places.

As for Sheephead, I've never really targeted them so no clue

He said most of the floaters in that immediate area were sunk - lots of debris in the water. Must have been some really high winds through there - this is on the north end of the Land Cut.

We catch fish in the bay 12 months out of the year. The fishing changes with the seasons but there are plenty of fish to be caught all year long. November is probably the very best month of the whole year for bay fishing.

Sheepshead? I didn't know there was a specific time to fish for Sheepshead. I generally try to not catch them. But yeah, we do catch alot of big ones in the cold months now that I think about it. I'd say I catch more big sheepshead in like Feb-April and I really try not to catch them.

Going to Port A this weekend. In for any updates on the damage/beaches if anyone is down there now or has heard from someone. Hoping August 1st the ban on driving on the beach gets lifted.

If I was gonna chase a red fish in matty, in November, it would be in water you cant get a boat to and the mud is too deep to wade

Agree! As Glen said, November is the best month in East.

Tully1029- Get your kayaks and put in on the very West end and fish all the coves on that end of the bay and you should do fine.

Sheepshead can be fun to sight cast to on the jetties, but this one decided to eat my frog before a red could on tourney day....I wanted to just throw him in the bank.

I'd rather catch Sheepshead than Redfish, better eating! Hall can have them Reds lol. I mainly just like cleaning trout because they're so easy and fast.

I bought me one of those filletzalls. I can clean some reds now. I did catch a sheephead one time on a Down South Lure but I threw it back.

I have a buddy at work that hires a guide out of Port Aransas several times a year. They usually just catch reds and black drum. We give him a hard time about paying a guide to go catch carp!

I catch trout to eat but there isn't anything as cool to me as catching a red you can see in a marsh without another person within miles of me. It can be a little addicting. I've hauled more than my share of trout over the gunnels through the years but I'm a redfish guy.

This. I like to hunt, sight casting to reds in shin deep water is hunting, especially with a flyrod. .

Casting to a big fat sow trout in shin deep water is hunting too but I haven't had much success doing that 12 months a year like I have reds.

I love me some big trout, but thereís nothing quite like sight casting to redfish. I just wish it hadnít become so popular. 20 years ago I wouldnít see a boat in the marsh, these days you canít go a day without seeing someone else in the back waters. Makes it a bit more challenging, but Iíll take it.
