Monday morning about 3 AM my wife had to take me to the ER with severe pain in the kidney area. I did have kidney stones but the Doc found a mass in my left kidney that appears to be cancer. I'm meeting with him tomorrow to decide how to proceed. He says they are going to have to remove the left kidney. I had CT scans and a MRI yesterday and today. At this point I don't know if anything else is involved.

Have a friend who went through this earlier this year--and he is doing just fine. Docs told him it was the "best" kind to have as it is nearly always totally contained in the kidney, and removal of the kidney eliminates the problem.

Cancer sucks but certainly sounds like they caught it early. Be thankful for the kidney stones ! Best wishes and hope the Pet scan and everything else comes back clean. We will be praying for the same.
