I’m in the market for a new meat grinder. My small grinder has been great but I want a bigger/better grinder. Thinking at least 3/4 horsepower. Any recommendations??

Procut kg22 1hp. Amazing grinder for deer. Super fast huge pan and huge feed throat. About 1400 bucks but it's the last grinder you will ever have to buy.

I've had really good luck with my Cabela's Commercial Grade. I have had it since 2016 and it's still chugging along. I wouldn't say it does a huge amount of grinding, but probably 100-200lbs a year, which is all done at one time. It spits it out as fast as I can feed it.

Don't overlook the meat brand. I picked up a 1hp on black Friday. Only used it once sofar to do 40#. It's a beast and seems well built.

I have an 3/4HP LEM Big Bite and it does everything I ask it to. Most of the time I can’t keep up with it. The foot pedal is a must option.

I have a 1.5 hp Vevor. It has all stainless parts and it's a lot less money than the others. I have some friends that have been using their products for a while with good results. It has ground everything I have pushed down it as fast as I could feed it.

Procut or Torrey. The "MEAT!" brand looks to have quality equipment too.

1/2hp #8 from Cabelas will chew through meat as fast as you can feed it. I've had mine for a few years and extremely satisfied. I would highly recommend the foot pedal for on/off use.

Same here. Their 1 hp means power produced- not stall rated like most of the so called commercial grinders. 1,800+ lbs/hr first grind explains it all.

Picked up the 1.5 HP MEAT brand grinder when they had their black Friday deals. This thing is a bad dude and it's also very quiet.
They have some of the smaller ones on sale right now, but not the 1.5. Be worth checking into when you're comparing prices. |

I have used the LEM #5 with the .25 HP for 10 years doing 6-10 deer a year with zero problems. I can’t imagine needing a 1 HP motor.

I was a butcher 20 years. You are correct. Folks here talking about grinding 50lb in 15 minutes. This grinder is 1800lb hrs first grind and a feed throat that can handle volume. Most of the grinders discussed are not in the same class.

Has already been discussed enough but go big and pay one time. Minimum 1 hp. With wide gap auger or Big Bite auger with LEM. A lot of good ones on the market. If budget allows for a 1 1/5 hp you can pass it on to your kids. 1 1/2 hp for me and I do about 3000 lbs a year commercially.

GG is your grinder single phase? I’ve wanted to pull the trigger several times on a big Hobart but I don’t have three phase capability.

gumbo man, you can get a converter to run it on 220. I have one (which is 3 phase) and this is how we run it. It works great too.

Dang, didn’t know folks were shooting enough deer to need 1000 lb capacity at a time while grinding…

A lot of folks don’t just use their grinder for deer. You can make wild pork sausage all year long or wait till pork butts are on sale like last week at our HEB (.97 a lb ) and stock up. Us hillbillies don’t like paying 5-6 dollars a lb. for sausage.

I can't see anyone needing more for at-home use than the 1hp meat brand. It'll do 14#/minute. It's faster than my hands can move to put it in and will take a piece of meat bigger then my fist and never check up. It was love at first sight for me

Like underwear, you're gonna get lots of answers on this one. Only don't put your underwear in the grinder. And certainly don't put the grinder in your underwear!

I have a 1.5 HP Cabela`s grinder that I bought about 12 years ago. It is a great grinder. If I were to buy one today, I would probably get a "MEAT" grinder. They have the 1, 3/4 and 1/2 hp grinders on sale now.
