Well I've been able to avoid wearing masks at work, but with the new OSHA mandate taking effect today that looks like it will come to an end. Thankfully I have my own office so it won't be all the time. Hopefully the Supreme Court knocks this crap down before February 9th when the testing portion kicking into effect. Not sure how they plan on so many people taking so many tests when they apparently can't make enough of them now............

Makes you wonder why there isn't enough test right before the "You can test weekly if you don't want the shot". Can't test millions weekly if there isn't any... Now you are in violation with only two options left.

Great point, I don't credit the left with enough brain power to have thought it through that much though. I think they are just pulling stuff out of thin air regardless if it has any logic or if they are prepared for the obvious results of their decisions.

Our new protocol started at work today also.. And it is about as stupid and devisive as it gets..

If you are vaccinated then you do not have to wear a mask..(You know because they can't spread it or catch it.)
BUT
If you are an evil Unvaxxed person then you have to wear one 100% of the time regardless of where you are or what you are doing..

Divide and conquer!!

What new mandate? My company just did away with mask all together unless you were exposed and not showing signs or returning from being sick with covid. Both cases you have to wear it for 10 days..

Federal OSHA Mandate applying to ALL employers with over 100 employees across all locations. Masking portion for the unvaccinated started today and the testing portion is supposed to be added early February.

Yea you are right but the day for that stand is long gone.. We failed that test miserably. We as a country weak. Easily scared. Our enemies are taking note..

Speaking from first hand experience, neither mask or vaccine, booster prevented Omni from spreading in our household? OSHA and other agencies have zero clue about how to respond to covid or it’s mutations, it’s not if , it’s when are you going to get it,

These new tactics aren't meant to prevent anything.. They new from day 1 none of this crap worked.

Last I checked we had three co-equal branches of government. Supreme Court rulings aren't an end all, be all, though it has become accepted as that. I put as much faith and respect into the Supreme Court as I do the other two branches.

I thought that was blocked or rescinded by OSHA..

They appealed it and another federal judge sided with them. So it went to the supreme court. I believe they started hearing arguments last week. Until they make a final decision, these companies are forced to go forward as if this is still in effect.

The way they have acted so far has been outstanding. Not 1 word of forcing us or asking for exemptions. If the government forces them then I have no doubt that our exemptions will be rubber stamped.. Ours started today also. I really hoped my company would just ignore them, but with the possible OSHA fines, they have caved.

Where do States rights come into play.. It's my understanding the governor said private companies can't force the Vax in Texas?

So how does OSHA prove a company isnt enforcing the mask mandate? If you have some people running around without masks because they are vaxxed, how does the average employee know if someone should be masked because they are unvaxxed? If the average employee doesnt know, there would be no reporting of the business to OSHA.

There’s a few companies still holding out. I hope yours stands it’s ground. We will see how many companies defy OSHA after its fully implemented. Government can be very persuasive

My company isn't happy about it, our head HR person told us in the meeting she isn't even vaxed but unfortunately due to OSHA fines being a possibility they aren't going to risk having the business go under and us all losing our jobs. I can't fault them for that, if we want to take a stand and possibly lose income for it they are giving us that option instead of forcing it on all of us. As far as the religious exemptions go they are saying even with those we would still have to mask/ get tested in Feb so not sure what use they are....... I was surprised my wife who works for a Fortune 500 company hadn't gotten an email about it yet..... but she just texted me 10 min ago it came through

States’ rights actually has nothing to do with it. That would be the US government versus the Texas government.

This would be the Texas government versus private industry.

I believe the governor’s executive order was that another government entity in Texas could not issued such rules. I think it specifically said that the order does not apply to private businesses.

So the city mayor or city council or a school principal of a public school cannot order masks or vaccinations because they represent the government. That is on hold at the moment I believe because several school districts and Harris County have sued in court saying that it wasn’t a lawful order.

It might be somewhat ironic that when the governor issued an order closing down certain businesses which he was allowed to do in Chapter 418 of the Texas Government Code, people claimed that it was an unlawful act. The governor then issued an order that restricts government bodies such as city councils or public school districts from ordering the same orders that he earlier did (even though 418 gives them the same authority). While I know where Chapter 418 says that he can respond to a pandemic by regulating the occupancy of properties, I have no idea what authority he is issuing an order telling a school district they can’t until it’s employees to wear masks.

I think some people believe that he overstepped his authority in closing businesses but then agreed with him in denying masks or a vaccine mandates.

A lot of companies have gone through this, and then back off days before the due date.....by then the majority have already gone out and gotten jabbed.

That is a horrible position to be in. After that many years on the job it could be financially disastrous for a family. I know it is easy for some people to say that no job is worth it and for those people, maybe that is correct. It is not a one size fits all however.

Sorry to hear that, I am thankful my company isn't drawing a hard line, but working for a staffing agency we have been notified that it is legal for our clients to do so. They are comparing it to a background check requirement is my understanding.....

How about a company telling the gov to F off ? If my job requires it I’ll ask if I can buy my own test and test weekly. If they say no I’ll tell them to F off after 20 years of sacrificing for complete strangers.
I have volunteered twice to run covid calls and if they don’t mean anything for my department then they can shove it. I’m an adult and I will survive

In a civil, virtuous society people on both sides of the social contract are held to account. But when one side openly and flagrantly denies the other's individual rights, the social contract is broken and we devolve to the state of nature.

In the context of today, this easily justifies lying/cheating to the extent you're comfortable with the risk of being caught and punished. They lie and cheat, why shouldn't we?
