Son and me talked momma into letting us sneak out for a few hours. Not a heck of a lot flying but we scrounged out one limit. Mixed bag of ring necks, gadwall, red head and this pretty canvasback that my son made a great shot on.

Gotta use those vacation days! Sometimes its nice to be on shift and just say well sorry in laws duty calls!

Going to give it one more try Sunday if the north wind forecast holds up. Otherwise, second season will hopefully bring more birds down. Haven’t had much cold/snow up north yet.

Congrats. I like the way canvasback tastes. But I'd also like to have one mounted. Last one I shot was 100 points. 1973, I think.

Eat one from lake fork or Cooper!! That will change your mind on how they taste!!
