I just listened to Joey Maguire interviewed on the ticket, and I am instantly interested in what he is able to do at Tech. I hope for success for both in that partnership for sure.

Boy this throws a wrinkle into USC and LSU in regards to Arranda.

Liucci dropping the hammer:

Someone tell Seven Win Sark that Jimbo went 9-4 in year one with two top-15 wins, not 4-8 with seven straight Ls. Dude should worry about tending to his own spiraling program and I sure hope that's not his sorry-*** recruiting pitch.

This info came from someone very close to assistant AD at LSU. Still not sure who it’s going to be.

Someone was saying earlier it’s Arranda and he already has had discussions about Herman coming to be his OC but no clue how true that is.

Hard not to agree with this:

“Don’t get me wrong, Texas is NOT good at football … but …

The Longhorns held DOUBLE DIGIT 2nd half leads vs. THREE teams currently ranked in the CFB Top 10.

That’s staggering.

Staggering.”

And frustrating!!!

I know that Mark Stoops has been good at Kentucky considering what he is up against, but does that do anything for the LSU crowd?
That's what I heard last week. Sucks.....

TCU looks like it has zeroed in on Dykes which would leave SMU open. That is going to be an interesting job to see where they go. I believe they would go with a young offensive mind like maybe Graham Harrell or Jeff Lebby (assuming Kiffin stays at Ole Miss as he could be up for that job if Kiffin bolted). It is reported that Kendall Brlies is happy just being an OC right now at Arkansas and not ready to jump into a HFC position. Of course dollars can change that pretty easily.

Hard not to like the guy. He’s lit a fire out West that they’ve needed for a while and hope he can jumpstart things. He should have everything he needs and the new Womble Football facility underway early next year should help. Dudes been on the recruiting trail since day 1. So much better then the Wells fiasco.

When Jimbo was initially asked about it immediately after O was fired, I feel like he did a pretty good job of answering the question, but probably left a bit of an opening by saying “I plan on” finishing his contract with A&M.

When pressed a little harder a week or so ago, I feel like he pretty much shut the door with his well publicized answer to the lingering question (“I ain’t going nowhere”...but some still speculate because, as Jimbo admitted, sometimes coaches lie about such things.

I listened to yesterday’s press conference this morning, and in answering a fairly innocuous question (I think from a Batt student reporter) about players “expressing excitement...” about Jimbo staying at A&M and “continuing to build this program...” and if that “has created a stronger and more loyal connection between you and your players...” After joking about how that might change “after today’s practice,” I think Jimbo’s answer is pretty telling:

“Well I think it is... there's a trust. I mean, you have to trust…listen. People always say you’ve got the player's careers in your hands. Well, they’ve got our careers in their hands. It's a trust factor...

...And I think from that standpoint of building that trust and love between each other, which is what I think it's about, it's doing that...

... Hopefully, they have it in me. I definitely have it in them, and we're developing each and every day.”

If Jimbo were to jump ship to LSU (or anywhere else) after a statement like that, I don’t think he’d ever be able to talk to a player, a recruit or a parent about “trust” ever again.
